Tired

Andrew is gone with the youth group this week on a mission trip to Yakima,WA. They seem to have had a fun trip over there, and are now working hard.

They will be doing some VBS work as well as painting and house repairs for the people of the community. There are 12 from our church and then they are working alongside another youth group as well. This is such a great opportunity for them to learn so much as well as bond and create new friendships. I am praying for their safety and that they have fun and create  valuable memories!

The kids and I are missing Daddy just a bit. My thought has been that if we keep busy, we won’t have time to miss him. The only thing that has done is make me really tired! We are used to Andrew having to leave for trips like this, but this time it is a bit longer than normal and Axel is taking it a little worse than normal. He is so sweet when Andrew calls at night and when Andrew couldn’t call one night Axel waited up until he fell asleep on the living room floor. I’m hoping to catch a few pictures of Axel on the phone, and a video too. He is so precious and his heart is so big. He prays several times a day for daddy and the youth group, and last night he added in prayers for the kids with mommies and daddies that don’t love them. I love my boy!

And I have no doubt that Axel gets his sweet nature from Andrew. Even when we are apart Andrew is thinking of me. Look at these mountain flowers in mountain spring water that he picked for me. Missing you Andrew! Come home to us soon and safely!

Deep Dish Chef

Last November Andrew and I got a weekend away in Chicago and while we were there we acted extremely touristy. We stood in line for over an hour for Chicago dogs, went to the Navy Pier, and had deep dish pizza. It was a fantastic weekend and a nice time of rest for the two of us. My mom and siblings were so amazing to take the kiddos for the weekend (thanks again!).

On the Navy Pier

Andrew decided while we were eating our yummy deep dish that he is going to master making deep dish pizzas. He really does love deep dish!

For Christmas I got him a deep dish pizza pan and a cookbook and we finally had time to try it out! I expected the first time around to be so/so, but it was amazing. Andrew really is good in the kitchen (I wish he had time to cook more!) and he even cleaned up his mess when he was done. Thanks Babe!!!

Passion

I’ve been missing something lately and it took me a while to figure out what it was.

Passion.

As soon as I realized what I was missing, it came back to me in a second. Passion for God, my kids, my husband….my life.

I have always known that life is always about your attitude. But knowing something, and actually living it are two completely different things.

So I decided that the little monster that chases me around all day asking me to hold her-

She is one of the sweetest, smartest, most loveliest babies I know!

And the other two, that are always asking me to do things like feed them and play with them-

They melt my heart with their love, grace and understanding.

And my husband, who always wants to talk to me and be my friend

He is an amazing father, friend, husband…. and his generosity and compassion has taught me so much.

I am praising God for my refound passion!

Happy Halfsie Andrew!

Yesterday was Andrew’s halfsie and we had a beautiful day. After a delicious breakfast of eggs, sausage, orange juice and toast the whole family headed to the Y for the kids classes. Axel is taking sports sampler and Miracle is in dance sampler. They have both been so excited and were counting down the days. Axel had a blast but Miracle was a little apprehensive. No one else from her class was there so she was the only one. The teacher had a little bit of a tough time getting her to participate but at least Miracle stayed in the class without throwing a fit.¬† Guess we’ll have to try again next week.

From there we picked up some Jamba Juice and ran a couple errands. (One was getting a new highchair for the baby!)

Then we played six holes of disc golf at Highland Park. Very fun and I did surprisingly well for how giant my belly is! I parred a couple of holes and we all had a great time. Finally we headed on over to Axel’s Bonfire on Grand for a late lunch.

The rest of the evening was spent relaxing and watching movies. What an awesome day with our whole family!
