God is holding my umbrella

We’ve all heard the expression “When it rains, it pours.” Well, I have been living the last several months in a thunderstorm.

While I will not take this moment to delve into my issues I will say there have been plenty. Some worse than others, all raining down.

When faced with trials I have found you can go to God first or last.  When you go to Him first you save yourself a lot of worry and frustration.

Some things I dwelt on and found this to be very unhelpful. Instead of solving my problems they only got worse. My thoughts ran in over drive and exaggerated the situations.

Other things I turned over to Him immediately. I can not explain the peace and comfort in doing this. At first I felt a little callous in the whole situation but then realized that true peace really does come if you can just “cast your cares upon him”. It still hurt, but peace came with the hurt.

Psalm 32:7 says “You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.”

I read “God is holding my umbrella”.
