Praising and Praying

Monday evening Andrew was out enjoying the weather on his motorcycle and was run off the road by a careless driver. We are praising God that he is for the most part ok. His wounds will heal. Praise the Lord!

Andrew was fortunate to be close to a relatives house and walked there and cleaned up a bit and got some ice. I came, picked him up, took him home and bandaged him up. He looked like a mummy. lol. In addition to his arms, side, shoulder and hands missing lots of skin (ouch!) he also had pain in his foot, hip, shoulder and ribs. (All on the left side.)

Of course, our health insurance is in limbo…Every time we think our application is good they call us with more questions or needing more information. I do not even want to get into the mess that is our country’s health system. McCain and Obama have been doing enough of that! So, a friend from Oakwood has been blessing us beyond belief. He had Andrew come into the urgent care facilities where he works and has done x-rays, exams, more x-rays, and tended to his wounds. Oh and did I mention x-rays?

Diagnosis? Bruised ribs, separated shoulder, broken foot with torn ligaments and LOTS of pain! I know my husband and I know that he is really struggling, whether or not he will admit it…

The foot will require surgery which is scheduled for next Tuesday and everything will take weeks and even months to heal. Please pray for Andrew that he will be relieved from the pain that he is in and that his recovery will be speedy.

Andrew was wearing his helmet and I cannot be thankful enough. I balked a bit at the price when we purchased it (there were cheaper options) and now I know that it was worth every penny. After seeing everything my brother has gone through I know first hand how much worse this could have been. If you look in the picture, the scrape on the side of the helmet is where Andrew’s head hit the ground and the one on the back is where his head drug along the ground… Praise the Lord for wives that make their husbands wear helmets and for husbands that spend the extra money on the really good ones! haha. Yes Andrew, you were right:)

If anyone wants to bring over a movie and hang out or just come and keep Andrew company for a while I’m sure he would love it now and in the time after his surgery. In the mean time, please also pray that we can get our health insurance figured out!

And pray for me that I can have peace and strength with another ‘baby’ to take care of 🙂 He is being so strong and I am amazed at how he is dealing with his situation.

Andrew says, “I don’t care about my body, it will heal. My bikes broken!” 😦

Oh Andrew!!! Yes your bike is broken but God will heal him too, maybe not in your timing but his. I am praising God right now that you are alive and praying for complete healing. We serve an awesome God and I know he will take care of you all in every area. Thank you so much for loving me and being genuine friends… there’s no other family y’all.

ahhhhh…. gosh, i love you guys sooooo much… get well and let your mind rest about the bike.

Cheri, I am confident that God will also help you take care of another baby and that baby is gonna find a new love for you through it all!

    Blessings to all of you.

Wow! As avid motorcyclists ourselves, we see “close calls” all the time. I am thankful that you came out of this with only bangs, bruises, and a few brokens…you will heal. I am sorry your bike did not fare well, it can be replaced (maybe not as quickly as you would like, but winter is coming!). You, my dear, could not be replaced! Rest, take care of yourself, love your wife even more and love your babies. Life is precious and I am sure you learned that through this. God bless you all and I will be praying for a speedy recovery. Jenny (aka MOM)
